People often ask, how did Tracy the New Yawker become a Los Angeles Laker Fan

“In April 1999, I was given a free ticket to a Laker/Knicks game. I knew the Knicks were from NY and that a basketball was a round orange ball so figured I would go and try to make the most out of the afternoon.

Well, as soon as the game started…I was hooked! I had never seen ANYTHING so exciting in my entire life. You see, I have the attention span of a flea and the outcome of the game seemed to change with every passing moment. The adrenaline rush was amazing. The Lakers seemed like Movie Stars. Every aspect was much bigger than life. I noticed a guy on the court playing for The Lakers who wasn’t having a particularly good game, but he seemed like he loved what he was doing and was very passionate about the game. If there is one thing that turns me on in life it’s passion. I always say no matter what you choose to do with your life from being a janitor to a scientist to a performer…love it and be the best you can be at it!! I soon found out that the player who seemed to love the game was Kobe Bryant. Unfortunately, the Lakers didn’t win that year. But my love affair started with the Lakers and with Basketball. I started reading books, watching games and during the off-season I catch up on old games on ESPN classic. I guess you could say that it was love at first sight in my love affair with the Lakers!”

Here is Tracy with Vic “The Brick” Jacobs from “the Loose Cannon” radio show on AM 570 here in LA. This photo was taken at the last game of the season in 2008 when the Lakers took 1st place in the Western Conference! The streamers from the game are proudly displayed in my Laker Museum.
